CHERT Rohstein

Polychrome (multi-coloured) CHERT – flint with great patterns.

This quartz variety is offered in trade with different names. Imperial Jasper, Polychrome Jasper…… Strictly speaking, however, this is not a jasper at all, but is correctly referred to in English as CHERT.

CHERT is FEUERSTEIN and this can also be seen visually. The raw stones are tubers with a weathering bark and a razor-sharp fracture.

The location of this raw material is Madagascar.
