>Blue DISTHEN crystals in EKLOGIT
From the EKLOGIT TYPLOKALITäT- Kupplerbrunn and Gertrusk at the SAUALPE in Carinthia.
EKLOGIT is a relatively RARE metamorphic rock of basaltic (volcanic) origin. EKLOGIT is also witness of an earlier ocean – now to be found at an altitude of almost 2,000 meters !
The composition consists .B of GRANAT, Quartz, DISTHEN, RUTIL, TITANIT, PYRIT and lithium-rich GLIMMER.
The EKLOGIT of SAUALPE is about 270 million years old.
The sites of these crystals are located above the Steiner Hut in large EKLOGIT blocks. Unfortunately, everything has grown quite over, which does not make finding the DISTHENE easy.
