GROSSGLOCKNER – MOUNTAIN CRYSTAL

BERGKRISTALL with largely undamaged end faces .

This piece was found in the 1960s, during the construction of the Margritzenspeicher, when the miners of the construction team enlarged a narrow quartz fissure in the Elisabethwand with the help of explosives – so the reports – so that several large specimens and individual crystals could be recovered.

Strangely enough, BERGKRISTALL finds in the area of the highest mountain of the Eastern Alps 3.878 m are rather rarities especially on the Carinthian side.

On the market are GLOCKNERKRISTALLE as good as NOT to find…!
