Very nice, decorative rough piece from the Bandet Iron Mine in Griqualand – South Africa.
Hawk’s eye is a fine fibrous quartz aggregate with crocidolite. The colour varies from blue-green to blue-grey. Tiger eye is formed from hawk eye by intercalation of limonite and silicification of crocidolite . BOTH varieties are present in this piece .!
Excellent raw material for grinding and polishing.
