Grofle crystal specimen of a quartz variety , which is not seen very often.
Natural CITRIN is actually nothing more than rock crystal – the yellow color is due to aluminum ions built into the quartz lattice. This constellation does not seem to occur very often, which is why Natur CITRIN is rare.
For this reason, masses of burnt amethyst (violet color changes at about 500 degrees C into a yellow/orange hue) is offered as “citrine” and you can get it at any fair for a few euros.
