FLUORIT or fluorpatism is a mineral from the class of halogenides with the formula CaF2

This mineral is colourless by nature, but occurs in many colours under certain circumstances.

The green color is to be applied to the RARE element SAMARIUM , which is stored in the crystal lattice – the color is therefore also stable.

The violet colors are produced due to electron defects in the crystal lattice.
