Typical mineral paragenesis from the famous mining district Wölsendorf-Oberpfalz – Bavaria. The mining of GALENIT was documented as early as 1472. In the 19th century Wölsendorf was one of the world’s largest suppliers of FLUESSPAT , for the smelting and glass industries.
The last pits were closed in 1987.
This FLUORITE specimen is studded with many mounted CHALCOPYRITE Crystals, also xx of pinkish BARYT are present.
