Wulfenite grade from the type locality

Bleiberger Erzberg:

Lead and zinc have been mined here since the 14th century – the mining was done by hand in 1200 tunnels and shafts over a total length of approx. 1,300 kilometers. !!

Wulfenite was first found in the oxidation layers of the lead deposits in 1785 and declared as “Carinthian Bleyspath”. The mineral was later named after Franz Freiherr von Wulfen.

Wulfenite is a lead – molybdenum mineral Chem.formula: Pb(MoO4)

The honey-yellow color is typical of Bleiberg.
