Wulfenite xx - SLOVENIA

Wulfenite is also called yellow lead ore and forms in the oxidation zones of lead and zinc deposits. This mineral was first described by the naturalist Baron von Wulfen – after him this mineral is named.

Typlockality is the former lead and zinc mining site in Bad Bleiberg in Carinthia.

This piece is from the former Misice mine on the Slovenian side of the Karawanken.
