ZEIRINGIT - Oberzeiring / Styria

ZEIRINGIT is the blue colored variety of the mineral ARAGONIT. It arises from sinter formation in copper deposits. Tiny inclusions of AURICHALCIT cause the blue tones.

The place of discovery and at the same time the TYPLOCALITY was the former SILVER mining in Oberzeiring in Styria.

That is a EXTREMELY RARE Mineral and very popular with collectors, as mining in Oberzeiring has long been shut down and the later ZEIRINGIT sites in Laurion / Greece and Japan have long stopped delivering new pieces.
