Wulfenite is also known as yellow lead ore and forms in the oxidation zones of lead and zinc deposits. This mineral was first described by the natural scientist Baron von Wulfen - the mineral is named after him.
Type locality is the former lead and zinc mine in Bad Bleiberg in Carinthia
