In the summit area of the Großer Speick (2,104 m) there are a number of prgmatite outcrops with white granular marble in which there is often plenty of black tourmaline - centimeter-sized silvery muscovite xx as well as garnet (spessartine) and, with a lot of luck, zircons. It is damn difficult to chisel free-standing tourmaline crystals out of the pegmatite blocks, which often weigh tons - this is only possible if the crystals are to be found in quartz - but then there is a great danger that they will jump out - sometimes it is desperate - but, C'est la vie !
