FLUORITE - CaF2 - Cubic crystal system - hydrothermally formed approx. 320 million years ago.
FLUORITE is an allochromatic mineral - i.e. colorless - foreign-colored.
The emerald green color comes from the SELTENERDEN element SAMARIUM, which is embedded in the crystal lattice. The color is stable.
