Falcon's eye is practically the precursor to the well-known tiger's eye. From a mineralogical point of view, hawk's eye is the pseudomorphic transformation of the asbestos mineral - crokydolith - into quartz by retaining its original fibrous structure. These parallel former asbestos fibers produce this well-known surface iridescence called chayoting. The golden yellow tiger's eye is created by the incorporation of LIMONITE in falcon's eye.
