Under the fanciful name "LEMON CHRYSOPRAS" a mineral is offered especially on the jewelry and esoteric market that pretends to be a CHRYSOPRAS because of its name - unfortunately not!
CHRYSOPRAS is very rare in good quality and therefore relatively expensive. CHRYSORAS is the finest representative of CHALCEDONE.
"Lemon Chrysoprase", on the other hand, is a MAGNESITE colored yellow to greenish-yellow by NICKEL. In comparison to genuine CHRYSOPRAS, this MAGNESITE has a much lower Mohs hardness and is not transparent.
Nevertheless a very interesting mineral that is found in the Eastern Goldfield Area in Western Australia.
