Very beautiful shell panel from old mining .
Shell diaphragm is an aggregate with varying proportions of
Zinc blende = sphalerite, wurzite, calcite and galena = galena
However, the beautiful, high-gloss metallic texture is only visible on polished surfaces - the nature side can be seen in the last photos.
Shell panels are worldwide only at very few sites to be found.
This piece was created many decades ago in the former mining district of
Bleiberg/Kreuth in Carinthia - Austria found.
