AUSTRALIAN Noble OPAL rough stone - very large and decorative.
BOULDER OPALS are so-called MATRIX EDELOPALS. The OPAL veins sit on or as OPAL veins in a ferrous clay sandstone.
This extremely attractive ROHOPAL is interwoven with veins all around and there are several OPAL areas on the surface that look like gel.
Depending on the incidence of light, many "GREEN SPOTS" flash in the deep blue OPAL veins
Location: QUILPIE OPAL FIELDS - SOUTH WEST QUEENSLAND
For such a big BOULDER OPAL, in this quality, you have to pay in a store in SYDNEY or MELBOURNE - MINIMUM 500 dollars!
This was the ONLY really large rough stone in the new lot, because they are very difficult to get, as the opal cutters usually cut up large blanks and grind the good parts into Schnuck, which always results in a much higher profit.
This magnificent piece weighs: 0.91 kilograms, i.e. 910 g
Dimension: 14 x 13 x 9 cm
