The banded ores (magnetite-hematite) are of volcanic origin and were deposited 2.3 - 2.1 billion years ago along deep-sea trenches,
Layered structure with microcrystalline quartz (JASPIS). KROKYDOLITH (hawk's eye) was formed in the cavities and later the shiny golden tiger's eye was formed by the incorporation of LIMONITE.
Blank - layers partially folded - half a side cut surface (would be good for polishing! )
