Very many yellow-orange DRAVIT crystals in a silvery, shiny MUSCOVIT matrix
TOP RARITY from the type location
DRAVITE are MAGNESIUM TURMALINE
First described by the Austrian scientist Prof. Tschermak in 1883 - This previously unknown tourmaline group was a mineralogical sensation and was presented at exhibitions and in museums worldwide. The first locality is also the type locality and is located in the extreme south-east of Carinthia - here the river DRAU flows towards the Danube and the Black Sea - the locality is today on the territory of the Republic of Slovenia and there the river is called DRAVE - hence the name. NO new finds have emerged from here for over 40 years. xx
